This robot was makey makey, each wire was a botton and using the grafite of a pencil or our own bodies we can transmit the energy to the robot and this to the computer in order to move the character.
This robot is cubetto, we have to make a pattern in order to make the robot move, we do this activity without looking the instructions and we discover the meaning of each object.
This robot is Matatalab, using the instructions we have to make the robot do a path to reach the objective, the commands were simillar to the ones in scratch so it was easy to recognize them. At the end we experiment with different commands, it was really funny to see the robot dancing.
What robot to use?
Personally I would use the cubetto robot, I think is the best one to teach kids how commands work, like lef, right, straight, and loop. It´s very simplifyed and funny, and the kids can make their own decisions to where the robot must go to.
I would tell them a story, that a small robot is lost in and it needs to go to his destiny, but it can´t touch the water otherwise it will drown. Doing this the kids will start thinking about different ways to reach to tghe objective, developing their creativity and their love for technology.
